Established in 1860 after Sir Henry Lawrence, the Lawrence College Ghora Gali (LCGG) is the oldest residential institution of its type in Pakistan. It is a located Murree Punjab and situated at the beautiful foothills of the Himalayas at a height of about 1950 meters (6397 feet) above the sea level, on a pine-covered spur. The college covers an area of about 150 acres and lies at a distance of about 2 km from the Rawalpindi-Murree Road, some 4 km from Murree and 57 km from Rawalpindi. Lawrence College with 160 years of incredible history, it takes pride in an institution with a distinctive character and glorious traditions in the fields of academics, and extra curricular activities, created by its pupils, popularly known as ‘Gallians’.
Admissions are granted to qualifying candidates in Junior School Class I, Preparatory School Class V, Senior School Class VIII and Intermediate Year I. If vacancies arise in other classes, they are advertised and filled after the test and interview.
Lawrence College prepares pupils for the Secondary School Certificate (Matriculation) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (Intermediate) Examinations conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rawalpindi and “O” Level Examination of the Cambridge University. Science subjects are taught only at the SSC level. While in Intermediate the boys are prepared in Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering and General Science Groups including Computer Science.
