Cadet College Hasan Abdal is located in Hasan Abdal, Attock District of Punjab. It is a residential secondary school for boys with over 500 students. Established in 1952, Cadet College Hasanabdal was the first quasi-military boarding institution of its kind in the country, organized in the British tradition.
Students attending the Cadet College are called Cadets. The college prepares boys for the secondary school and intermediate examinations conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi, and also for the General Certificate of Education ‘O’ Levels and ‘A’ Levels. Some cadets study for Matriculation or F.Sc. (both pre-medical and pre-engineering). Admission to this College is done only once in a year in Class 8/O-Level and a very few in Class 11/A-Level. Classes are conducted in the morning and preps (individual silent study periods) at night.
Fitness activities include gymnastics, jogging and athletics. Physical training (PT) is conducted in the morning and sports in the evening. Cadets take part in sports such as basketball, field hockey, football, horse riding, squash, swimming, tennis and volleyball. Students are also taught drill.
In its history of over sixty years, its graduates have not only contributed tremendously in the national mainstream, many have moved across frontiers, and are now playing their roles at the global level.
