The foundation of Garrison Academy Quetta was laid in 1984 as Kehkashan Army Public School at nursery level by Commander 12 Corps, Lieutent General Khushdil Khan Afridi. The academy was initially housed in old army huts. It was upgraded to Middle standard in 1988 and to secondary level in 1990 to meet the growing demand for quality education. The GAQ is affiliated with the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Islamabad. The first batch of matriculates qualified in 1993. It was renamed as Garrison Academy Quetta in 1997. The school was upgraded to Intermediate level in 2000. The first batch of GAQ College passed out in 2005. The campus is spread over 9 acres of land with a covered areas of 3,75,084 sq ft and has lush green lawns, vast play fields and has an over all look of a well planned, well maintained campus.

Admission to a child of common citezen of Quetta is only a dream here as admission policy is not easy or education... friendly, cost of education very high. They charge civilian student thrice as compare to students from army families unfotunately a double standard.read more
