Federal Directorate of Education (FDE)

Established in 1967, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) Islamabad is working under Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training for providing educational facilities at various levels in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

Objectives of the FDE are:

FDE strives to make ICT an Educational City with optimal literacy and Educational levels through:

Providing Quality Education to Children;
Increasing Access to Education for all;
Increasing School/Colleges Enrollment Rates;
Enhancing Capacity of Teachers through Teacher Trainings.

The Functions of FDE are:

Administration and Management of Federal Government educational institutes in ICT and providing educational services to students from prep to post-graduate level;
Human resource management of teaching and non -teaching staff/posts;
Recruitment, transfer/posting;
In-service training /capacity building;
Supervision & promotion of academic and co-curricular activities;
Monitoring and evaluation of administrative and academic services;
Planning & Development of new schemes / educational institutions;
Financial management & audit of educational institutions;
Provision of infrastructure (building, furniture& fixture).
