One-year tuition fee of Tevta students waived
According to daily Dawn reported on 10 Feb 2021, the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) Government of Punjab has waived one-year tuition fee of more than 100,000 students due to Covid-19 pandemic worth Rs325 million. The Punjab Minister for Industries, Mr Mian Aslam Iqbal announced the waiver on 9 February 2021 .
According to the Minister, the government has taken the initiative to support the students financially and guarantees provision of technical education in the province for students. He said the Finance and Development Committee took the decision and they were thankful to Punjab Minister for Finance Hashim Jawan Bakht for his keen interest in this matter to support students.
According to available details, the tuition fee of 2020-21 session was waived for the regular students enrolled in various 400 Tevta institutes across Pakistan. He said the Pakistan was facing a financial crunch and this decision would benefit the parents and students both who were already facing challenges due to covid. He said the government would fulfill its responsibility towards providing skill-based education and training to the students.
