Business Days Calculator

Use this business days calculator to count working days between two dates. It excludes weekends and lets you add holidays that should not be counted as working days.

It is useful for calculating project deadlines, delivery periods, leave dates, school schedules, notice periods and payment timelines.

How to use the Business Days Calculator

  1. Choose the start date.
  2. Choose the end date.
  3. Add any public holidays or non-working dates, if needed.
  4. Calculate the number of business days.
  5. Review the result and use it to plan your deadline or schedule.

The calculator normally treats Saturday and Sunday as weekends. Check your workplace, school or country’s schedule if the working week is different.

Example

If a task starts on Monday and is due after five business days, the deadline will usually fall on the following Monday. Weekends are not included in the count.

If a public holiday falls during that period, add it as an excluded date to get a more accurate result.

When to use business days instead of calendar days

Use calendar days when every day counts, including weekends and holidays.

Use business days when only normal working days count. This is common for offices, banks, schools, deliveries, contracts and administrative deadlines.
